The SlingLady recommends: Baby Carrier Accessories for Travelling

by Sling Lady on July 7, 2009

If you’re in the market for a baby carrier for your summer trip, or you’ve already got a carrier but are looking for a few additions to make your life easier on the road, this post is for you!  I’m reviewing my favorite babywearing accessories for travelling.

Keep an eye on your baby: We won’t leave home without our Peek-n-Back babywearing mirror or Chisco Rearview Mirror.  Both give you an easy peek at your child on your back.  Did he drop his pacifier again?  Is she finally asleep? Do I have the sleeping hood on properly?  One of these mirrors is a must-have for every traveler!

Bags and pockets: We also always bring an extra bag or pouch that hooks onto the carrier we are using.  You can never have too many pockets and bags when travelling, and one that can become part of the baby carrier is especially handy when you’re on the go.

If using a pouch or a ring sling, bring one of these detachable pockets.

If using the ERGO carrier, you’ll find the ERGO front pouch handy for storing your wallet, keys and other items you want super handy.  And if you’re going truly minimalist, the ERGO backpack makes a good diaper bag, leaving you truly handsfree.  It fits a change of clothes, a diaper, wipes, a changing pad and even a sippy cup or two.

ERGO’s front pouch also works great with other carriers, including mei tais, the Pikkolo and the Scootababy.

Happy Travels!
