Celebrity Babywearing: Camila Alves’ creative use of her ERGO baby carrier

by Sling Lady on October 18, 2010

No, the ERGO baby carrier isn’t meant to be worn facing forward and yes, people do it all the time!  Here’s a shot of Camila Alves making the ERGO work for daughter Vida Alves McConaughey (8 months).  Forward-facing positions should be used sparingly, but I must say, little Vida looks like she is having a great time.

The model and Shear Genius host is also mom to Levi (age 2), with partner Matthew McConaughey .

I carried my baby facing forward until she was old enough to face me with her legs v-Ed on either side of my waist. The legs should not be separated until that time. Also I think they say they should not face forward because if they did push up with their feet they could fall if the wearer isn’t anticipating this issue. However a person wears their baby the benefits are endless.
