The Sling Lady

Stretchy wraps are such a great choice for the first 6 months, yet I’ve seen very few celebs find the wrapping love.  So I was pleased to see Tisha Campbell Martin wearing a stretchy wrap very similar to the Moby Wrap in natural and coconut organic.

Better yet, Tisha is wrapping baby Ezekiel (four months old) almost perfectly.  She’s got him snugly against her chest, and close enough to kiss the top of his head.  She’s also got the wrap pulled smoothly down her shoulders, making this wrap comfortable for a long time.  The only tip I’d give her is to pull Ezekiel’s knees up into a more seated position and to pull the fabric under his knees.  This would both better for his body and more comfortable for him.

I was expecting to have to wait a bit for the new Fall colors from Moby, but we’ve got them already!   Burgundy, Pacific and Slate are such lovely options for the cooler weather.  I’m so ready for sweaters, fleece and fires in the evening!

Continuing my report from the ABC Expo: Moby Wrap also debuted its Fall 09 colors.  My favorite is the slate (if you’ve been reading The SlingLady blog even a little, you know by now that I pretty much love anything grey) but the new Pacific  (a deep teal) and Burgundy are beautiful jewel tones that will work well with current fall fashions, too.   They’ve all got contrast stitching on them, which gives them a nice polished look.  I’m kicking myself for not taking pics of the colors at the show, but will post them as soon as I get them from Moby.  Slate is available now, while Pacific and Burgundy will be available later this month.  Updated 9/24 to add: we’ve got all three colors available now, sooner than expected!   Check out the lovely Pacific and the yummy Burgundy now, and get them while supplies last!

Moby’s also got some new prints, including Tattoo, which is pictured.  Tattoo reverses to solid rose pink.  I bet anything that people are going to take a look at your bundle of joy “wrapped with love” and they won’t be able to stop cooing.

My favorite thing about the Moby booth: I fell in love with Babylegs!  I’ve been resisting this trend, I think because so many of my competitors carry them that they don’t feel all that unique to me.  But Moby now has BabyLegs created to match its wraps, and they are SO cute together!  I just had to add them to our lineup – now I’m wishing I had a newborn to carry around in a Moby wrap with some matching BabyLegs!   As any babywearer knows, baby’s pants ar forever getting scrunched up when you wear your child in a carrier.  BabyLegs are great as a sun cover or to provide extra warmth for that bare patch of skin between their socks and the bottom of the pant leg.   Available in five colors: pink, green, aqua, organic purple and organic green.  Check them out!  How cute are they.
